Wednesday's Mother's Day Gift Guide: Guest Blogger DESIGN MOM

Gabrielle Blair, also known as Design Mom, is the queen of blogging.  Let's just say I might have done a happy dance when she agreed to guest post this week (my boys were wondering what got into their mom)!  She has been so kind and wonderful to work with, especially considering she is due any day now with baby number 6.  Can I please have her figure when I'm expecting number 6?  Gabrielle is a designer who shares her awesome finds and ideas with the world via her blog.  One of the things I love about Gabrielle is that she keeps it real.  No false pretenses and she even admits to staying in her PJ's during the day...glad I'm not the only one!  Better Homes & Garden named her Blogger of the Month for their March 2010 issue.  Check out the rest of her press articles and interviews HERE.   

Well Hello Make-You-Over Readers!

Gabrielle of Design Mom here. So nice to meet you. Chelsea asked me to write about one of my favorite Mother's Day gift ideas. And she asked me to think of an item with a price point under $100. But I'm cheating. The product I wanted to tell you about is $149. But. It is awesome. So if you can splurge, put this on your list.

 

It's called Clarisonic. And basically, it's a motorized scrub brush for your face. Friends. I have been using this for about 2 years now and I'm addicted. Nothing else comes close to getting my face as clean. It's like a mini-facial every single day. A few things I love about it (and I swear, I'm not being paid to say any of this):

- It comes with a charger and the charge works for about 30 days. Which is fantastic. It means I don't have to charge it very often and when I travel, I don't have to pack the charger.

- You can use it in the shower. That's where I keep mine -- and now, washing my face is just an easy part of my morning routine.

- Sometimes I add a smidge of face cleanser to the scrub brush. Sometimes I use it alone. It works well in both cases.

- The scrub brush pauses at certain intervals so that I know it's time to move to another area of my face. Great for me -- because I get easily distracted.

I'm telling you, I used to have to purge my pores constantly, but no more. And my moisturizer goes on so smoothly. You will love it. I promise. I think I might even get one for Ben Blair for Father's Day.

P.S. -- I use the Clarisonic Plus. But really, I only ever use one speed. If I was buying now, I would go with the Mia — I like the yellow!
